You need to register first, basically if you sign up and ask to be in the beta you will get added. Should only be 1 or 2 more beta versions left, they file right now is about 60mb, the final one may be a bit bigger.

Beta version 0.995. Regular level is pretty much done. Visionary level has several issues.

Latest Post

Things to know about file.

You need to have DSLoA to play this.
The exe installer will run on 98, ME, 2000, and XP.
The sp game is basically done.
The regular level is basically done.
The visionary level is the same stuff as regular but the mobs are not correctly balanced yet. Also a couple mobs and vendors still need to be changed to be the 4w versions. There is some new items and spells that mobs may use or be obtainable only on this level.
There is better stuff to be found in visionary.
The sets are now all added and seem to be working okay.

Just to let you know that I've been looking forward to this siegelet since January this year. Looks promising and nice! Thanks for all the work and efforts that go in the development. Can't wait until it's released!

Feel free to download the 0.995 version as the regular level is considered "feature complete" and SJR and Monsoon consider it done I believe. The visionary level still needs balancing but it will take you a bit to be ready to play in that sandbox....

It is mostly a test version for the regular/sp game. One little bug was found with the regular elf hirables about the Ranger Set helm. Which has been corrected and will be in the next release.

Beta version 0.996. mooie3.gif

New and improved Beta version.

Abstraction Beta v0.996

There are some minor fixes which may or may not be noticed.
The sets that use helms now have a helm for Elves and non Elves. They say on the description which version it is.
The maze area was added back in for something different. It is just sort of there.
You may notice some new monsters are used in both monsters about and monster summons.

Not sure where to post this, but since most threads here have cobwebs hanging all over them, I'll try here.

Just finished Beta .996

I would say that the only thing that really need teaking is the level balance for the last three gems. The Succubus level seems a bit too hard relative to the previous levels while the Dwarves level seems WAY too easy. Final level is OK. Succubus could remain--I did manage it but with a very strong team--several with complete sets of equipment--(never got all of the Combat set though), but if I am not mistaken, you can't get into some parts of the dwarve's castle until you've complete Succubus but then the monsters are trivial (well a little harder when you get near the gem, but still too easy) and the treasures are silly for this level.

OK--I'm still wandering around and the Paladin skeletons are now joining me--a small army of such. What is the point? My party can easily handle anything left alive on the map?

Had a good time though!

I would agree the Dwarven Mines are kind of easy after the succubi. Though, especially if you do not have any sets, the Blood Elves and then the Pit Fiends can be pretty hard.

Dont know if you got a Blood Set but I think that is probably the most powerful set if you have all 5 pieces to it.

Yop it is a bit dusty around here, there are been plenty of downloads of the file but doesnt seem many people post anything on it.

I'm playing through SP a second time at a higher difficulty level, but knowing the game I spent the time to gather complete sets of equipment before moving to more difficult areas, and that strategy proves to make it all too easy. (I have three fully equipped Rangers, one swamp fighter, and one Hand fighter--haven't gotten to the areas where I can get Combat and Nature sets yet but have a sixth character that needs only a couple more levels of strength to don Sea equipment.

It is probably too far along to make this kind of change, BUT....enemies drop way too much stuff--mostly worthless junk. This really clutters up the screen if you have labels turned on, and you risk missing a good drop if you turn the labels off (and you risk picking up a lot of crap by accident). Kaishun suffers the same fault with certain characters dropping their full armor and weapons sets--over and over again. Fewer drops, but more appropriate drops to the level of the monsters, would be better. (Making a Transmute ALL spell available earlier might help this.)

I do note that the money drops increase either with the gem level or the number of times the creatures have respawned (not sure which) and that is good, however it is not clear that you can legitimately collect enough gold to buy the best rings and amulets. Even when the drops get near 10,000, that's still a hundred drops per million and to collect the price of some of the amulets....... sad.gif

In the next version the sets will be distributed a bit differently. Meaning you will not be able to get a complete set of one type before possibly even seeing the next set (except maybe the Blood Set which wont be available until later, plus I am not sure you can complete that set in a sp game without super lucky drops).

There is a transmute all advanced spell (I think it is level 10 nm) that lets you transmute all items including rings and spells. The only things you cannot transmute are the gems and set items. So if you have 100 items on the ground and you cant tell if there is a set there and dont care about the other items you can cast it and every thing there will be gold except the set item piece(s). Actually it is not hard to change the number of items since it is set in the monsters template. The only thing is for some it seems that they drop 1 or none or lots of things by changing the value by 1.

I have played with the vendors witht he jewelery pcontent values. The thing on this is that the value for an item that is frankly junk, like a ring that gives +3 to armor is not much but any item that actually has good value to it skyrockets in price. The jewelry seems to be much more effected by this than other item types are. Also much of the siegelet/map are setup with mp in mind as well. Personally myself and I know Monsoon as well prefer playing the mp setup so we have geared much of it to work more towards mp than sp. In mp you can play an area with a higher level character which will generate higher value drops from the monsters making obtaining gold much easier for good items to buy.

I know there is, but it doesn't seem to show up (just got it as a drop last night) until you are 80% through the game. I haven't seen it in a vendor's shop up to this point (currently doing the succubi). Having one available--say in the swamp shops, would help--it gets especially messy on the way to the Sea Elves.

Being on dial-up at home (too cheap to go high speed when I have a T1 line at work where I can do downloads), I don't do MP. I suspect you will find that there are many more SP players than MP players although the MP players will be the more vocal and be more likely to participate in these forums. wink.gif
